A weekly scan of new legislation and regulations important to the Ontario health sector, as well as articles of interest.
The Ontario Legislature has adjourned until September 11, 2017.
Proposed regulatory amendments to support the implementation of the Patients First Act, 2016 (“PFA’):
- O.REG 515/09
- O.REG 417/06
- O.REG 279/07
- O.REG 95/09
- O.REG 554/06
- O.REG 398/93
There are proposed amendments to various regulations under the Local Health System Integration Act, 2006 (“LHSIA”), Community Care Access Corporation Act, 2001, and French Language Services Act (“FLSA”). For O.REG 515/09, the proposed amendments under LHSIA are expected to strengthen accountability, improve health system planning, design and delivery of French language services, and enhance access to services that are linguistically appropriate for Ontario Francophones. Secondly, proposed amendments to O. REG 417.06 under LHSIA are intended to reflect the expansion of the LHIN mandate to include the management and delivery of home and community care services. The proposed amendments to O.REG 393/93 under the FLSA would remove Champlain CCAC and North East CCAC as designated agencies under the Act.
Comments are due on September 4, 2017.
